Academy 2XV v Lisburn 3
It was bright autumn day with an invigorating breeze blowing across the pitch when Academy 2XV took the pitch fielding a team with 8 changes from its last match. The last change occurring 10 minutes before kick off with veteran sometime retired Paul Barbour being dragged from his intensive training programme to play at full back following Gavin Braiden’s late call up to the 1st XV. The team welcomed 2 new players to the club Rory Neary on the wing and Callum Leckey at Blind side.
Academies started well attacking Lisburn but were unable to put points on the board. On Lisburn’s first foray into the Academy 22 in the sixth minute, a short lineout followed by some good sharp passing put the Lisburn right wing in the corner for the opening score. Academy were sloppy in defence.

Academy launched some fine counter attacks with veteran full back Barbour showing some deft touches and being unlucky in just being stopped short of the line following a mazy run from the half way!!!
Academy centre made a break from his own 22 and was generous in giving Keith Dobbin a simple run in try in the 70th min.
Acad 40 Lisburn 19
