Academy Review – 1st XV v Ballymoney (H) – 27th August 2022

It’s that time of the year again, league rugby is back! The 1st XV entertain Ballymoney at The Fort in what will no doubt be a cracker.

This season we will be providing a Match Programme for games right across the club. Printed copies will be available at our pre-match lunches and you can also check it out below.

Saturdays game sees Director of Rugby, Gareth Lynn select a blend of youth and experience. Tom Davis makes his first start at flyhalf. It’s a busy weekend for the Davis clan with Under 18 player Frank representing Ulster in Limerick on Sunday. We wish them both the best of luck.

Gurt welcomes back Conor Bond, Daniel Logan and Rory Linden to the starting backline which has plenty of pace on offer. Whanganui native Shaun O’Leary makes his competitive debut in the centre whilst Nathan Rooney also likely to make his debut is named among the replacements.

Shaun joins Josh Lennox, Sam Beard, Tate Harte and Andre Halbert as Collegiate alumni to have pulled on the maroon and navy for Academy RFC.
