Academy Rugby Football Club

It’s with profound sadness the President, committee and members of Academy RFC learnt of the passing of two notable members this week.

Henry Halliday

Henry Halliday was a past 1st XV Captain and President of the club. He also presented the Halliday Cup which is currently held by Sligo RFC.

Henry wrote and published on the clubs 50th anniversary “Academy Rugby Club – 50th Anniversary” detailing the history of the club.

Hamish Barbour

Hamish played for the 1st XV in the late 60’S. He also captained the 2B XV and 3B XV in his later years as a player.

Our sincere condolences are with both families at this sad time.
