Following our recent committee meeting, Director of Rugby, Gareth Lynn informed the committee of his intention to retire from his position after 12 fantastic years.

A past player and club captain, Gurt was a natural candidate to take up the role of DoR over a decade ago.

As a true Academy man, Gurt quickly established an outstanding relationship with players past and present instilling in them what it means to play for Academy RFC. Further to that, his commitment to developing all players regardless if they were a 1st or 3rd XV player was a highlight of his tenure.

The committee and players place on record their thanks to Gareth for his contribution over the past 12 years.

We look forward to seeing Gurt at his first pre-match lunch next season and on the touchline supporting (when Lynsey has had enough of him).
